How the Neighborhood house gets built.
I like that Mister Rogers never hides the fact from his (young) audience that the whole show is a put on; the Neighborhood (much less the Neighborhood of Make-Believe) doesn’t actually exist. Although I still find the idea that Fred Rogers is “real” and Mr. Rogers is “fake” problematic. He plays himself in a fake Neighborhood where the character he plays (himself) sometimes makes up stories about another neighborhood. Man. That’s hard to think about.
